The day you bring home your little bundle of joy, your whole world changes. As Sandy Puc so eloquently said in a recent course I took, "photography is not a luxury....it is a must have". These early years are such a whirlwind and while you may feel like you will remember the moments forever, they fade. So, write little love notes to your baby, journal about those silly stories of what happened when you were overtired, and make sure to have your relationships photographed (by someone, anyone). You cannot go back in time. And if you choose to have a professional newborn photography session, you will cherish those photos and when your baby grows up, they will want to look at them and share with their friends.... and you better believe it, they are going to want ones with you in them!
